58 <br /> Fire Department and Forest Warden's Report <br /> To the Honorable Board of Selectmen and the <br /> Citizens of the Town of Mashpee <br />� II hereby submit my report for the year ending December <br /> II' 31, 1970. <br /> The Fire Department -answered the following calls: <br /> House Fires 8 <br /> 4 Brush.and Grass 18 <br /> Permit Fires 105 <br /> Dump 3 <br /> Car Accidents 7 <br /> Car Fires 8 <br /> j Mutual Aid 11 <br /> B. W. O. P. 1 <br /> Boat Rescues 17 <br /> Flooded Cellars 6 <br /> Investigations 21 <br /> Flooded Oil Burners 1 <br /> Drownings 1 <br /> Oil Burner Permits 29 <br /> The response to fire calls in 1970 was comparable to 1969. <br /> This year we are looking forward to having more dump fires <br /> because of the anti-pollution law and the piling up of rubbish <br /> in the dump. <br /> I am pleased to report that the addition of our new Fire <br /> Truck has given better protection to the Homeowners of the <br /> I Town of Mashpee. It has proven to be a great asset to the <br /> � II <br /> Department and the Firemen. <br /> I am honored to recognize Mr. Edwin L. White of Meeting <br /> House Road, Mashpee, as an Honorary Fireman. He has <br /> I proven to be a great asset to our Department by answering <br /> the telephone and radio when the manpower is at a mini- <br /> mum. His services as a volunteer fireman and Forest Warden <br /> for the Town of Mashpee has been rendered over many years. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> WARREN M.
