Drastic increases have occurred
in the following areas:
1 1970 1971
Arrests 192 359
I' Narcotic Violations 8 35
Breaking & Entering 56 114
In addition to the above, other indications of increased
activities are as shown below:
1970 1971
Mileage 147,380 191,553
Court Fines $1,186.00 $2,292.00
Emergency Trips 140 163
These comparisons, in part, emphasize a positive increase
1 in operations involving the department and forcefully prove
that the present facilities are inadequate to house daily ac-
tivities. There is a deficiency of office space, locker room
-space, laboratory space, confinement space and squad room
space. Again, a plea is made for new department housing.
Education of the personnel has continued. It is projected
to enroll two sergeants at the State Police Academy, one
patrolman at the County Academy and the detective who has
completed Basic and Advance Drug School and Basic and
Advance Fingerprint School at the Federal Narcotic and
Dangerous Drug School.
Noteworthy is the month of July in which 135 adults and
4 juveniles were arrested, also 337 citations were issued in
1971 as opposed to 306 in 1970.
,I
