A unanimous vote. <br /> Article 18. To see if the Town will vote to add the following <br /> i� by-laws relative to inland waterways within the Town: <br /> Section 1. Speed regulations — No person shall operate a <br /> '! motor boat, as defined in Chapter 90B of the Massachusetts Gen- <br /> eral Laws on the ponds of Mashpee within one hundred fifty (150) <br /> r, <br /> feet of shore at a rate of speed in excess of six (6) miles per hour <br /> ,E <br /> or in all areas during the period from one hour after sunset to one <br /> hour before sunrise at a rate of speed in excess of six (6) miles per <br /> hour. <br /> Section 2. Water Skiing — No person shall water ski, except <br /> j' to start and stop, on all ponds within Mashpee, within one hundred <br /> fifty (150) feet of any shore. No person shall operate a motor boat <br /> while drawing more than two water skiers at the same time. No <br /> person shall water ski on John's Pond, Santuit Pond, Ashumet <br /> Pond and Mashpee-Wakeby Pond except during the hours of one <br /> hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset. <br /> Section 3. Age of Motorboat Operator — No child under <br /> fifteen (15) years of age shall operate, nor shall the owner of a <br /> boat permit such operation of a motor boat, as defined in Chapter <br /> I 90B of the Massachusetts General Laws, with a motor rated at ten <br /> (10) horsepower or more, without the presence of a responsible <br /> 1 <br /> �! adult capable of operating a motor boat. <br /> Section 4. Penalties for Violations — Whoever violates any <br /> of the provisions of these regulations relative to the use of water- <br /> ways shall be punished by a fine of not more than fifty ($50.00) <br /> dollars except as provided in Section P <br /> 14 of Chapter 90B of the <br /> ISI <br /> Massachusetts General Laws relative to first offenders. <br /> ' Section 5. The Board of Selectmen may appoint a Harbor- <br /> I master with police powers for each of the ponds within the Town <br /> to enforce the by-laws relative to use of waterways. One Harbor- <br /> i"' master may act as such for more than one pond. <br /> Section 6. Signs -- The Park and Recreation Commission <br /> shall cause Section 1 through Section 4 to be posted at all public <br /> landings on the four ponds within the Town. <br /> dill Action: Motion duly made and seconded that the article be <br /> accepted as read.
