Article 18. To see if the Town will vote to add the following i� by-laws relative to inland waterways within the Town: Section 1. Speed regulations — No person shall operate a '! motor boat, as defined in Chapter 90B of the Massachusetts Gen- eral Laws on the ponds of Mashpee within one hundred fifty (150) r, feet of shore at a rate of speed in excess of six (6) miles per hour ,E or in all areas during the period from one hour after sunset to one hour before sunrise at a rate of speed in excess of six (6) miles per hour. Section 2. Water Skiing — No person shall water ski, except j' to start and stop, on all ponds within Mashpee, within one hundred fifty (150) feet of any shore. No person shall operate a motor boat while drawing more than two water skiers at the same time. No person shall water ski on John's Pond, Santuit Pond, Ashumet Pond and Mashpee-Wakeby Pond except during the hours of one hour after sunrise and one hour before sunset. Section 3. Age of Motorboat Operator — No child under fifteen (15) years of age shall operate, nor shall the owner of a boat permit such operation of a motor boat, as defined in Chapter I 90B of the Massachusetts General Laws, with a motor rated at ten (10) horsepower or more, without the presence of a responsible 1 �! adult capable of operating a motor boat. Section 4. Penalties for Violations — Whoever violates any of the provisions of these regulations relative to the use of water- ways shall be punished by a fine of not more than fifty ($50.00) dollars except as provided in Section P 14 of Chapter 90B of the ISI Massachusetts General Laws relative to first offenders. ' Section 5. The Board of Selectmen may appoint a Harbor- I master with police powers for each of the ponds within the Town to enforce the by-laws relative to use of waterways. One Harbor- i"' master may act as such for more than one pond. Section 6. Signs -- The Park and Recreation Commission shall cause Section 1 through Section 4 to be posted at all public landings on the four ponds within the Town. dill Action: Motion duly made and seconded that the article be accepted as read.
