To see if the Town will vote to raise and ap- i! propriate or transfer from available funds the sum of $6,100 said sum to be used to defray unpaid wages for the period HIM 1' 1 April 174 to 30 June '74, or take any other action thereon. P!3, Submitted by Police Department. IIS Action: Moved and seconded to raise and appropriate w and to delete the words "defray unpaid" and use "to be used for wages". Moved and seconded to accept Article 41 as 14, amended. So voted. Article 42. To see if the Town will vote to authorize the ,In' appointment of two additional police officers and to raise and appropriate or take from available funds the sum of $17,700.00 said sum to represent the annual salary of both appointees, the additional amount to provide for promotion of a Senior Patrolman to Sergeant, or take any other action E thereon. Submitted by Police Department. Action: Moved and seconded to amend to delete the section of words "the additional amount to provide for pro- motion of a Senior Patrolman to Sergeant". Amendment carried. Also to add at end of sentence "in accordance with Section 7C of Salary Administration Plan". Delete "or take from available funds". Accepted as amended. So voted. Article 43. To see if the Town will vote to accept See- tion 6B of Chapter 40 of the General Laws which states:-- A city or town which accepts or has accepted this section may appropriate money for the purchase of uniforms for members of its police and fire departments and its shellfish L constabulary, which may include the purchase of rubber boots, shoes, and other outer clothing necessary for the use of members of the police and fire departments and shellfish constabulary when traveling to or from or during the course of their employment, or take any other action thereon.
