Bad check defen-
dants that were issued complaints and set for arraignment
or trial numbered twenty five (25) for a total of 92.
It is the duty of the Police Prosecutor to handle and
assist in all court matters involving the Department and
assist the Prosecutor-Attorney in all trials and other mat-
ters involving the Department which includes, signing com-
plaints, taking out all summons and subpoenas, assisting
in issuing search and arrest warrants, arraigning defend-
ants, (motor vehicle or otherwise) handling disposition on
trial basis or at arraignments, getting continuances, attend-
ing hearings on probable cause, making returns to the court,
contacting witnesses and attorneys concerning trials, assist-
ing the public in obtaining complaints that would be signed
by those concerned, responsibility for the court reports and
preparation of necessary papers and .evidence for trials.
The Prosecutor-Attorney has enjoyed a successful year
at court and- received excellent cooperation from the Police
Prosecutor and other officers in-filing complete reports in a
timely manner and being ready when their cases are sched-
uled.
