regard, nearly 3,000 hours of training was completed by I department peronnel during 1991, in such diverse sub- jects as firefighting skills, emergency medical skills,hazar- ffff dous materials, auto extrication and heavy rescue, and supervisory training. In addition , 6 members of the department attended the National Fire Academy in Em- mitsburg, Md. for intensive two-week programs of in- struction at the management and specialized skill level. Much of the above training was accomplished while per- sonnel were "on- duty", and without additional cost to Town taxpayers. As an organization, we have become "lean and mean". Every dollar is accounted for and spent where it will do the most good-not only for this department, but for the citizens of Mashpee. As professionals, we, the members of the Mashpee Fire and Rescue Department, will con- tinue to provide you with the highest quality of service and make every effort to improve the quality of life in the community. In closing, I dedicate the 1991 Annual Report of the Mashpee Fire and Rescue Department to you,the citizens of Mashpee. You are the"customers"that we have taken an oath to serve, and you provide the financial assistance necessary for our existence.
