46 <br /> I <br /> Report of the Highway Surveyor <br /> To the Honorable Board of Selectmen and Citizens: <br /> I herewith submit my report as highway surveyor <br />` for the year 1950. <br /> Chapter 90 construction was continued on Red Brook <br /> Road and 2600 feet of 24-foot road mix surfacing were <br /> constructed and sealed. <br /> Under Chapter 81 maintenance, the usual scraping, <br /> patching, brushing and general maintenancce work was <br /> done. 3500 feet of new surface treatment was done on <br /> Newtown and Old Mill roads so that these roads have <br /> been oiled their entire length. 12,200 feet of seal coat- <br /> ing was done on Old Barnstable Old Mill Meeting House, <br /> Great Neck and Red Brook roads. Guard rails were <br /> painted on,Forestdale road, Pimlico Pond road and Route <br /> �i 151. Spraying with weed-toxin was continued to eradi- <br /> cate poison ivy and progress is being made in controlling <br /> this nuisance. <br /> i <br /> j Snow plowing and sanding were done as well as pos- <br /> sible with the equipment available but more sand spread- <br /> ers as well as some method of faster loading are needed <br /> II �I <br /> to do the work as it should be done.
