The examina- tions and treatments were without cost to pupils. In addition to his work, we fortunately have had one of the Mass. Dept. of Public Health demonstrations of the use of sodium fluoride to prevent tooth decay. All children aged 7, 10, and 13, were given a series of free treatments. II II: l' In 1951 all children attaining those ages will be treated, i 16 ,i I VI I and then in 1952 the rest of the children will be done. It is expected that the sodium fluoride will retard tooth III III ;I decay. It will not help an already decayed tooth and does not mean children can forget to see the dentist. �' ISI III ,I I��i Ilil'll i',Illl In addition to the clinics that are to be provided by the Board of Health in 1951, we have included in the II II; II il';' budget enough money for four additional clinics. Ills II Last April a Maico Pure Tone Audiometer for scien- tific ear testing was purchased by the three towns of the district. Mashpee is indeed fortunate to have such fine testing equipment. Nowadays school is vastly different from the "old I IIII ii days." There are so many wonderful new materials to ' IIID make lessons very readable and interesting.
