42 <br /> 1 <br /> i <br /> Veterans' Service Department <br /> Honorable Board of Selectmen <br /> Mashpee, Massachusetts <br /> j <br /> i <br /> i <br /> Gentlemen: <br /> The following is a report of the Department of Vet- <br /> erans' Services for the Town of Mashpee for the period <br /> from June 1, 1951 to December 31, 1951._ <br /> On June 1, 1951, I was appointed as Veterans' Agent <br /> for the Town of Mashpee by the Commissioner of Vet- <br /> erans' Services for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, <br /> Most of the aid rendered by this Department has <br /> been to World War I veterans and widows. The World <br /> War II veterans of this Town should be commended for <br /> their excellent employment record. Only two applica- <br /> tions were made by veterans of World War II for tem- <br /> porary assistance due to illness. <br /> 111 II <br /> This Town has been reimbursed by the Common- <br /> wealth 50c on every dollar spent for Veterans' Benefits <br /> ja since June 1, 1951 to December 31, 1951. This is a record <br /> of 100% reimbursement. <br /> This Department has also rendered the following <br /> services other than Veterans' Benefits—assistance givens a <br /> to veterans and their dependents in filing for Federal ; <br /> claims such as compensation, death benefits, and Fed- <br /> eral pensions. <br /> its <br />
