This makes three consecutive years without
a fatal accident. The Registrar of Motor Vehicles has award-
ed the Town a safety certificate, in recognition for each of
these years. This is a good record considering the heavy flow
of Military Personnel and the heavy summer traffic through
our town.
The morale and efficiency of the men and appointed of-
ficers has been very good. Each has worked with the other
in a very cooperative manner.
Our Police Radio is in very good condition and has been
of tremendous value in emergencies. The county has now
I installed a teletype in the Police Communication System. A
f l direct line from the Barnstable Radio Room to the Registry
of Motor Vehicles in Boston is maintained on a 24 hour basis.
a ;
On the spot checks of Motor Vehicle violaters, in regards to
: !':ip•;,q licenses and registrations, can now be made.
!l " I wish to thank the officers who worked with the Depart-
j `' ment, Town Officials, State Police and others who cooperated
Q I rad,
and rendered assistance to our Department.
Respectfully submitted,
FRANK E. HICKS
olice
Chief of P
it
I
