To see if the Town will vote to transfer from <br /> the Overlay Surplus Account the sum of $3,000.00 for the <br /> Reserve Fund or take any other action thereon. <br /> Action: Upon motion duly made and seconded, article <br /> 35 was accepted as read. <br /> Article 36. To see if the Town will vote to fix the salaries <br /> of the elective officers or take any other action thereon. <br /> Moderator $30.00; Selectmen—Chairman $825.00; other <br /> members $775.00 each; Assessors—Chairman $875.00; other <br /> members $550.00 each; Tax Collector $1,400.00; Treasurer <br /> $600.00; Town Clerk $400.00; School Committee $25.00 each; <br /> Highway Surveyor $1.75 per hour; Cemetery Commissioner <br /> $1.75 per hour; Police and Town Labor $1.25 per hour. These <br /> salaries shall be retroactive as of January 1, 1955. <br /> Action: Upon motion duly made and seconded it was <br /> voted to accept article as read with the amendment that the <br /> Selectmen's salary shall be $2,225.00, Collector's Salary $1,300. <br /> Treasurer $550.00. <br /> Vote: 75 for — 7 opposed. <br /> Article 37. To see if the Town will assume liability in <br /> the manner provided by Section 29 of Chapter 91 of the <br /> General Laws, as amended by Chapter 516 and 524, Acts of <br /> 1950,for all damages that may be incurred by work to be per- <br /> formed by the Department of Public Works of Massachusetts <br /> for the improvement, development, maintenance and protec- <br /> tion of tidal and non-tidal rivers and streams, harbors, tide- <br /> waters, foreshores and shores along a public beach outside <br /> Of Boston Harbor, including the Merrimack and Connecticut <br />
