42 <br /> i <br /> the situation of a clerk for both offices. She stated that the <br /> Collector's expense under Article 4 of $1,500.00 was intended <br /> to include the salary of a clerk. She made a motion to table <br /> Article 34. <br /> Tabled. <br /> A motion was then made that the Collector's expense <br /> under Article 4 should read $1,550.00. <br /> Voted—Unanimous. <br /> There was a request that Article 26 be taken up at this <br /> time. Under article 26, the vote to fix the salaries of the <br /> elective and appointed officers are as follows: <br /> Selectmen, Chairman $1,0,00.00 <br /> Other members, each 1,000.00 <br /> Assessors, Chairman 1,200.00 <br /> Other members, each 650.00 <br /> Town Clerk 600.00 <br /> Fire Chief 3,400.00 <br /> These salaries shall be retroactive as of January 1, 1957. <br /> Voted. <br /> Article 4 was again taken up. A motion was made to com- <br /> bine the Town Hall Maintenance with the Janitor's salary <br /> to make it possible for the Selectmen to raise his salary. <br /> Action: Upon motion duly made and seconded, the sum <br /> of $4,202.00 was voted for Town Hall Maintenance which sum <br /> would include .Janitor's salary. <br /> Voted—Unanimous. <br /> Mrs. Selena Coombs, a member of the Library Trustees, <br /> requested the library expense account be taken up. She <br /> stated that the article in the warrant should have read <br /> $2010.00 for Library Expense due to the necessary repairs, <br /> etc. and asked for an explanation why it was put in for <br /> $100.0-0 instead of the $200.00 requested. <br /> Mm. Robert Johnson, Chairman of the Finance Committee, <br /> said that the original article was for $20,0.00 and that it <br /> was their error or the printer's that $100.00 was put in the <br /> f <br /> warrant. <br />
