75
Town Clerk's Report
To the Honorable Board of Selectmen
and Citizens of the Town of Mashpee:
I wish to thank Mr. H. O. Westhaver for his guidance
when I began my Town Clerk duties last March. Also, I ex-
tend my gratitude to the Selectmen and other town officials
for their cooperation and assistance in bringing about the
changes for .efficiency and for safe `keeping of valuable
records.
The central light switches have been removed from the
Town Clerk's office into the lobby, enabling the office to be
kept locked. Previously, each time the hall was used by any
group, they had to enter the Town Clerk's office to put the
lights on and off.
All records are kept in the safe and in a newly purchased
file cabinet, at the Town Hall.
Book shelves have been built to accommodate books and
records.
, F
The radio-loudspeaker, valuable machine as it is, is a
big space taker in this small office. This equipment could
be very useful and beneficial to the people of M4shpee if it
were located in a more convenient place.
I have requested that the $100.00 appropriation granted
for repair of books be held over until 1958 because they are
still in the process of being repaired.
Respectfully submitted,
ELWOOD O. MILLS, SR.
Town Clerk
I
i
G
I .
