31 <br /> i <br /> Report of the Fire Department <br /> To the Honorable Board of Selectmen <br /> Gentlemen & Madam: <br /> I hereby submit my report for the year ending December <br /> 31, 1958. <br /> The following is a breakdown of the 57 calls made during <br /> the year: <br /> Brush and Grass fires 11 <br /> House and Chimney fires 9 <br /> Dump fires 15 <br /> Report of fires investigated 13 <br /> Rescue calls 7 <br /> False alarms 2 <br /> The loss on buliding fires was low during the year with <br /> the exception of one camp that was destroyed due to delayed <br /> alarm. <br /> I have found numerous violations of Chapter #148 of the <br /> General Laws, Chapter #148 contains the rules and regula- <br /> tions for the installations of Oil and Gas heaters and the <br /> storage of inflammable fuels and explosives. All information <br /> on this matter is available to the public. The permits required <br /> under the above Chapter are necessary so the Fire depart- <br /> ment have a record.of the amount and location of all inflam- <br /> mables and to see that only approved equipment is used and <br /> installed according to safety regulations. You can be sure that <br /> You are getting what you paid for if it's subject to an inspec- <br /> tion at the time of installation. <br />
