45
Report of the Dump Committee
To the Honorable Board of Selectmen
Gentlemen & Madam:
The report of -the Dump Committee is hereby submitted:
The Dump Committee has found about nine (9) possible
locations. We must admit, not all locations are convenient for
the people. In some cases, they are too close to dwellings;
other sites are not centrally located. It seems to be impossible
to find a site that will please everyone. The site that is in
the best location will create a serious fire hazard, unless a
good fire line is constructed as this site is in a densely wood-
ed section and dump fires create quite a problem. This site is
on Ashers Path between Rte. #28 and Meeting House Road.
The other locations are as follows: Asa Meigs Road, Tobey's
Back Road, Noisy Hole, Lovells Lane, Lowell Road, Cotuit
Road, Great Hay Road and Old Barnstable Road near John's
Pond.
ELLSWORTH PETERS
FERDINAND W. MILLS
ADOLPHUS G. MILLER
Dump Committee
i
