We continued on with the 11th Annual Super necessary especially Melinda Gallant from Mashpee <br /> Swim at John's Pond in late June that served as the Commons, Norma Lyons-Broderick from Cape Cod <br /> National Championship event for Master Swimmers. Bank And Trust, Heidi Trottier from Mr. T's (and <br /> Over 300 adult swimmers from as far away as Terry Too!!), Evelyn Buschenfeldt from the <br /> California and Texas attended.Many of the swimmers Beautification Council, Shirley McCormack from the <br /> participating were once world ranked swimmers who Cape Cod Children's museum, and a special thanks to <br /> now enjoy the less stressful competition and cama- out going Director of the Cape Cod Chamber of <br /> raderie that we provide. Many of the participants said Commerce—Patricia Pry. <br /> they would be back again after seeing the beauty and <br /> tranquility of John's Pond on a warm summer day. Frederick, Jr. <br /> The Woodland Run and the Town Cup Golf Leisure Service Director <br /> Tournament instituted for the 125th celebration con- <br /> tinue to be successful and well supported. Oktoberfest <br /> this year was a tremendous success with crowds esti- <br /> mated at over 5000 attendees. A new highlight of the <br /> event was the 1st Annual Oktoberfest Parade which <br /> showcased our Mashpee High School Band and Report of <br /> Homecoming King and Queen. Economic Development <br /> The year was finished off with the annual <br /> Children's Halloween Parade with over 200 children To the Honorable Board of Selectmen and the <br /> participating again in the parade and refreshments at Citizens of the Town of Mashpee <br /> the conclusion. <br /> During FY 2000/2001, the Office of Economic <br /> SPECIAL THANKS Development continued with its marketing initiatives, <br /> Special thanks need to go to a number of spon- coordinated development activities, and began its pre- <br /> sors and volunteers for all the support that they gave development project in the Mashpee Executive/ <br /> the department this past year.
