This 5,000 acre refuge is the largest of its <br /> Conservation Commission to protect, monitor and kind on Cape Cod and one of the largest refuges in <br /> enhance Mashpee's conservation and open space Massachusetts! We've seen a steady stream of Service. All of these partners actively participate in <br /> permit applications throughout the year. As in years partnership meetings (usually held 2-3 times per year) <br /> past,most permit applications were comprised of tear where land management issues are raised and i <br /> down/rebuilding of existing homes and home additions discussed. While each partner maintains the <br /> along with dock/pier construction, landscaping, hard- management rights of their own lands within the <br /> scaping and hazardous tree removal/pruning refuge, the partnership allows for collective and <br /> cooperative management and idea sharing in the <br /> 2013 also saw more turnover within the <br /> Conservation Commission. Patricia Jalowy,a full time interest of wildlife habitat improvement,public access, <br /> wildfire safety and environmental education/awareness <br /> commissioner, had to depart the commission due to <br /> scheduling conflicts, leaving 6 full time among other items. The partnership is currently <br /> involved in the process of putting together a <br /> commissioners, with one full time vacancy. Lou <br /> DiMeo (a resident of New Seabury)recently came on Comprehensive Conservation Plan(CCP)for the entire <br /> refuge. The CCP will address a wide range of <br /> board with the commission as an Associate(part time) management activities, including habitat <br /> member. Lou has actively participated in just about improvements, wildfire abatement, public access and <br /> every meeting we've had since he came on board last <br /> August and he is a most welcome addition to the public education. Additionally, the partners are <br /> commission. The commission is actively seeking working on a revised Memorandum of Understanding <br /> amongst each other. This MOU will clearly spell out <br /> volunteers to fill one full time vacancy and several <br /> Associate positions. the objectives of the refuge partners and will provide <br /> an excellent framework for effective and cooperative <br /> Although the position of conservation management of the refuge amongst the partners moving <br /> commissioner is voluntary and unpaid, all <br /> forward.
