Appointment; Purpose: .The Board of <br /> Selectmen shall appoint an Affordable <br /> Housing Committee for the purpose of <br /> assisting in any future updates to the <br /> Affordable Housing element of the <br /> Comprehensive Plan,reviewing and submit- <br /> ting comments on any proposals for afford- <br /> able housing projects submitted for approval <br /> to the Board of Selectmen under the Local <br /> Initiative Program or the Zoning Board of <br /> Appeals under Massachusetts General Laws <br /> Chapter 40B, identifying and facilitating <br /> opportunities for increased housing afford- <br /> ability in Mashpee on an ongoing basis, <br /> working with the Planning Department and <br /> other agencies to develop a Housing <br /> Development Action Plan under the provi- <br /> sions of 760 CMR 46.00 and seeking its <br /> approval by the Board of Selectmen and the <br /> Secretary of Massachusetts Department of <br /> Housing & Community Development and <br /> maintaining communications with similar <br /> groups in housing organizations. The activ- <br /> ities and recommendations of the <br /> Committee shall be consistent with the <br /> goals, objectives,policies and action plan of <br /> the Town's adopted Comprehensive Plan. <br /> §5-63. Membership; Terms: The Board of <br /> Selectmen shall appoint the Affordable ' <br /> Housing Committee, consisting of nine (9) <br /> members. Members shall be reappointed <br /> annually.
