graders visited Jehu Pond. In October our fourth sweet structures. All funds raised were donated to the <br /> graders visited several sites in Sandwich,including the Cape Cod Times Needy Fund. Many students and 5 <br /> power plant,the glass museum, and Coast Guard canal staff members participated in a "Books and Blankets,, C. <br /> station. In December our fourth graders were treated activity in which soft fleece blankets were created. c <br /> to a performance of the Nutcracker at Barnstable High Paired with donated books our blankets were given to <br /> School. Both our third graders and fifth graders the Children's Hospital in Boston. Food drives and <br /> enjoyed separate Zieterion Theater performances at collections for families in need were also important f• <br /> Cape Cod Community College. Our third graders also community service activities at the Quashnet School, e <br /> enjoyed a March trip to the New Bedford Whaling k F c <br /> Museum. In April, our fifth graders enhanced their c <br /> study of Native Americans through a visit to the <br /> Pequot Museum in Connecticut. As the school year I <br /> came to a close, our sixth graders explored the Boston <br /> Museum of Science as well as Roger Williams Zoo. <br /> Our third and fourth graders both visited Plimouth <br /> Plantation. Fifth grade students participated in an <br /> environmental fair held at the Otis Air Base and fur- <br /> ther enhanced their environmental studies with a trip <br /> to Waquoit Bay. Finally, our fifth graders went on a <br /> whale watch, a culminating activity to their school <br /> year as well as to their study of whales.
