ARTICLE VI-Filling of Appointed Positions. <br /> A. The Selectmen and Town Manager, respectively, shall fill the following appointed <br /> positions as indicated hereafter, with preference being given to residents, of the <br /> Town. Any person appointed to any position shall be sworn to the faithful <br /> performance of said position by the Town Clerk prior to assuming the position. <br /> Once a person is so sworn it shall not be necessary in any subsequent year where <br /> the same person is reappointed to the same position to again be sworn. <br /> History: Added 10-5-1992 ATM, Article 21,approved by Attorney General on 1-11-93. <br /> B. Positions. <br /> (1) The Town Manager shall appoint a Tree Warden for a term of one (1) year. <br /> (2) The Selectmen may appoint a Leisure Services Committee. <br /> Historv: Are 5m34982 ATM, Article 1.7, approved by Attorney General on 9-7m <br /> 1982. <br /> (3) The Town Manager may appoint a Director of Leisure Services to oversee <br /> recreation and youth services and committee education. <br /> History: Amended 5-3-1982 ATM, Article 17 approved by Attorney General on 9-7- <br /> 1982. <br /> History.- Amended 12-34984 STM,Article 38: <br /> History: Amended 5-1-1989 STM, Article 44, a roved by Attorney General on 7-5- <br /> 1989. <br /> (4) The Town Manager shall appoint, the Harbormaster and may appoint <br /> Assistant Har ormasters to terms of one (1) year. <br /> () The Selectmen shall appoint Town Constables for terms of one (1) year. <br /> (6) The Town Manager shall appoint an Inspector of Gas Piping and Gas <br /> Appliances, pursuant to MGL C. 143, §34 <br /> (7) The Selectmen shall appoint a Board of Registrars, consisting of four (4) <br /> members, one (1) of which shall be the Town Clerk, under the provisions of <br /> MGL C. 51, §15. <br /> (8) The Selectmen shall appoint a Shellfish Constable and may appoint Deputy <br /> Shellfish Constables, pursuant to the provisions of MGL C. 130, §,98, for a <br /> term of three (3) years. <br /> (9) The Town Manager shall appoint an Inspector of Buildings, pursuant to the <br /> provisions of MGL C. 143, §3. <br /> (10) The Town Manager shall appoint an Inspector of Wires, pursuant to the <br /> provisions of MGL C. 166, §32. <br /> (1 ) The Town Manager shall appoint a Dog Officer in accordance with MGL C. <br /> 1401 §151. <br /> 41 <br />
