<br /> Conservation Commission Acquisition of Lands and Maintenance Account any funds reimbursed
<br /> from the aforesaid sources in connection with this acquisition; and finally, to see if the Town will
<br /> authorize the Conservation Commission and the Board of Selectmen to enter into agreements
<br /> and execute any and all instruments as may be necessary on behalf of the Town to effectuate said

<br /> Explanation-, This article would authorize the Board of Selectmen to purchase, on behalf of the
<br /> Conservation Commission, a 1.09 acre parcel on Meetinghouse Road, which is adjacent to
<br /> existing conservation land owned by the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife on the
<br /> Mashpee River. The purchase would be paid for with funds from the Conservation
<br /> Commission's Acquisition of Lands and Maintenance Account. The purchase would normally
<br /> not require Town Meeting approval, except that this article is required to conform with the
<br /> requirements of the state's "Self-Help" land acquisition program, from which a 52%
<br /> reimbursement will be sought.
