The Planner reported that a solar overlay district and related articles are anticipated to be <br /> submitted by citizen petition for the May 2021 Town Meeting and that the Board would need to <br /> set a public hearing date in the near future. <br /> The Planner also reported to the Board that Governor Baker recently signed into law an <br /> Economic Development Bill that includes Housing Choice provisions. He shared some <br /> background as to how this may impact Mashpee and stated that, most notably, Massachusetts <br /> now joins the majority of states in reducing the threshold to pass zoning articles from a super <br /> majority to a simple majority. The Board expressed a desire for Town Counsel to provide an <br /> outline of the legislation and the Planner stated he would send to the Board the language as <br /> signed by the Governor. <br /> BOARD MEMBER COMMITTEE UPDATES <br /> Cape Cod Commission— <br /> Community Preservation Committee—The CPC did vote to authorize funds for an appraisal of <br /> Gooseberry Island <br /> Design Review—No meeting <br /> Plan Review - There was no meeting but the Planner restated that Solar Rising, who was <br /> recommended by the Plan Review Committee for approval of their Special Permit modification <br /> request,has an upcoming public hearing with the Board of Appeals. <br /> Environmental Oversight Committee—No Meeting <br /> Historic District Commission-No meeting but Mr. Balzarini again noted that the Historic District <br /> Commission reviewed three projects between December 2020 and January 2021. <br /> Military Civilian Advisory Council—No Meeting <br /> ADDITONAL TOPICS NOT ANTICIPATED BY THE CHAIR <br /> None <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> MOTION: <br /> The meeting adjourned at 7:30 PM <br /> Re,spectfully submitted, <br /> liai_;4 OW <br /> Patricia Maguffin <br /> Administrative Secretary <br /> 5 <br />
