5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 9, 2021 <br /> Discussion and Approval of Dispatch Agreement with the Barnstable Sheriff's Department: Fire Chief Thomas <br /> Rullo: (continued) <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the Conditions and Operating Policies for the Operation <br /> of a Communications Center for the Town of Mashpee by the Barnstable County Sheriffs Office for <br /> Fiscal Year 2022 as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Weeden,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes <br /> Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Opposed, none <br /> Discussion and Certification of Betterment Assessment for Emma Oakley Mills Way: <br /> With the completion of the work related to the road conversion project entitled"Emma Oakley Mills Way <br /> Easement Taking Plan" dated May 9, 2016 a Certification of Betterment Assessment was presented to the <br /> Board of Selectmen for final approval. The final Betterment is $5,714.80, a cost to be borne by each of the(7) <br /> property owners. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to accept the Certification of Betterment Assessment as presented <br /> and listed on the attached Schedule A. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Weeden. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman, yes Selectman Weeden,yes Selectman Gottlieb, yes <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes Opposed, none <br /> Public Hearing (Continued from July 26 2021)• Comcast Cable Television License Renewal Proposal: <br /> The Board of Selectmen opened the Public Hearing continued from July 26, 2021 on the proposal from its <br /> current cable television licensee, Comcast,to renew its existing license pursuant to G.L.c. 166A, §6 and 207 <br /> CMR 3.02(2) for the purpose of hearing testimony and to receive evidence from the applicant and members of <br /> the general public to assist the Board in its assessment of Comcast's qualifications for a provisional license <br /> renewal. <br /> It was disclosed the Office of the Town Manager/Board of Selectmen received late communication stating the <br /> representative from Comcast has a conflict and was unable to ZOOM nor attend the Board of Selectmen's <br /> Public Hearing this evening on the Comcast Cable television license renewal proposal. <br /> Acting on the advice of Town Counsel,Patrick J. Costello it was recommended the Board of Selectmen vote to <br /> not accept the renewal proposal as submitted. The matter would then be re-examined by the Town's working <br /> group for continued discussion with input from Town Counsel. The Town Manager would report the findings <br /> of this objective to the full Board of Selectmen. <br /> The Board of Selectmen opened the Public Hearing to solicit comment. <br />
