I
question this because of the available space for a roundabout. Many of the new roundabouts that I have
experienced being constructed on Cape Cod have had to be done in such a manner that the center
portion has been paved to allow the tractor wheels some safe place to go on 90* turns. One that I can
think of, replaced a light at a similar'T' intersection and has created a greater hazard than existed prior
to construction. Creating new and/or better right turn lanes off of Great Neck North and Rt 130-
eastbound plus widening Rt 130-eastbound at the intersection and creating a better and longer left turn
lane would eliminate some of the problematic traffic delays, in my opinion.
As is evident, I see no positive benefit from a roundabout at that location other than times when the
present traffic signals are not working, due to power outages. This can be corrected by creating a solar
bank that would engage when power is out for more than 'XX' minutes to keep these traffic controls
operative!
Thank you for the opportunity to comment!
Peter Readel
Mashpee, Ma., 02649
Sent from my iPad
https://outlook.office365.com/mail/inbox/id/AAMkADkwZWRkNzFhLTkwZmMtNDM2Yy1 iOTFILTQ4MDExNzhkYWU5MwBGAAAAAACd7hvDW%2BK3... 1/1
