The only change is in the economics, the banking situation has changed and
Applicant has not been able to secure financing for the project. Mr. Storrs is hopeful
however, that financing will be obtained in the near future.
As a result, Mr. Storrs is requesting from the Board a two-year extension, as
required under the Special Penmit.
MOTION- Dennis l a.l arini made a Motion to
grant atiro-year extension ofthe
Special Permit issued March 5, 2008 in this natter; which Motion was duly seconded by
Joseph Mullin.
NOTE: The official Vote was not talon at this point as Plannling Board Member,
James Leonard, objected asking-for Board consideration of a one-year extension,
especially clue to the affordable housing aspect of this project.
Mir. Storrs reiterated his request. r a two-}year extension explaining that in order
to complete financing matters, issue documentation, hid the project, and file for building
permits, the amount of time requested -gears , would be necessary in order to provide
the flexibility needed. He addressed the affordable housing aspect by stating he
continues to be very much in favor of the affordable housing component of the project, as
evidenced by his desire to pursue the matter.
The Chairman reminded the Board that a Motion has been made and Seconded in
this matter.
The Town Planner made reference to Section 6 of the Special Permit, whereby the
Board has asked for the initiation of construction of one 1 building within-two-years
time. In the event Applicant can provide to the Board good cause for the delay of
construction, the Board can vote on an extended length of time to remain-in good
standing.
Having made the Motion, Dennis al arini spoke to the financialfbanking
situation and conditions throughout the country at this time, acknowledging that
Applicant would prefer to have constructed a number of buildings, if possible. He feels it
would he unfair to the Applicant to deny an extension, as requested, with regard to the
state of the overall economy.
The Chan then called for an.official Vote to the Motion made by Dennis
Bal aurini and duly seconded by Joseph Mullin. The Vote was unanimous.
Voting in Favor of the Motion for a two-year extension to the Special-Permit in
this matter: Thomas O'Hara, Dennis l alzarini, Joseph Mullin, Diary waygan, and James
Leonard.
