Their request for change implies,
third story can be used for anything.
Dennis does not like it.
There i no explanation from Mashpee Commons on this requested change.
Steve thought the 3rd story was a good idea for residential unit but not for additional commercial.
Bev said the reaction at town meeting was in strong opposition.to 3 stories when brought up at
previous request.
Tom would lime the Board to recommend the article, as written, without the change. He
recommends supporting transfer of development rights. The change would make it harder,to get
approved.
He does agree with the change to Sec. 4, which is just a language clarification to make it read
better.
The Board agreed they do not want to strife "residential units only" from the proposed article,a
requested by Mashpee Commons.
Don Megathli , South Cape Village
He explained they are ready to go before the Board ofSelectmen with their proposed
improvements to the rotary but wants to get the Planing Board input con m ents.
Currently, the rotary has level of service problems. Are 3 recommendations to improve it:
-markings and signs
-4 lanes at a]15 legs
-by passes.
Mitigation can only be required through the Cape Cod Commission process.
Dennis asked if Mashpee C Ommons development will charge these proposals and are you
working together?
Mr. Megathlin said their proposal will accommodate 800,000 sq feet of commercial
development.
He gave a brief overview of the proposed "fixes".
Make all entrances 4 lanes. 4 lanes from leer Crossing to the rotary for Rte 28 is already in the
worts.
Use existing roads as bypasses: Jobs'Fishing, I onna's to Great Deck Rd. South, Old Barnstable.
Board members were not in favor of a 2 lane rotary.
Don asked about proposal for slip ramps'
Mr. Megathlin said.that was proposed by Greg Taylor and the reaction has not been positive. It
is not part of their proposal. Mashpee Commons is adamantly opposed to it.
The Board invited Mr. l legathlin to their first meeting in March to discuss this f utherr.
Charlie asked the status of construction at their site? Is the drainage in ? If so, it must be
inspected and he has not had contact with anyone.
Mr. Megathlin said they are installing drainage now but it is not finished.
8
