Town of Mashpee <br /> Planning Board <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> April 23, 2003 <br /> The Town -of Mashpee Planning Board Meeting wa-s called <br /> to order in Conference Room 1, Mashpee Town Hall, 16 Great <br /> Neck Road North, Mashpee, Massachusetts at 7 : 05 p.m. The <br /> Chairman, Beverly Kane, presided. <br /> Planning Board Members present : Dennis Barl arini, Nice <br /> Chairman; Steve Dolan, Clerk; Lee Gurney, Associate Member; <br /> Beverly Kane, Chairman; Don Myers; and Richard Terry (7 : 0 <br /> P.M. ) . <br /> Also present: Thomas Fudalar, Town Planner; Eric Smith, <br /> Assistant Town Planner; and Charles Rowley, Consulting <br /> Engineer. <br /> Public Comment <br /> A quorum being present the Chairman called the Meeting <br /> to order. As the first _ r.der .of business .she .addressed the_- - - <br /> _ ` ! public for comment with reference to those Zoning Articles <br /> being presented at the May Annual Town Meeting. <br /> The Chairman recognized Edward Baker, Pirate' s -Cove, <br /> Mashpee, M.A. Mr, Baker stated his primary concern for <br /> number of years has been the condition of the Mashpee <br /> River. <br /> He expressed his concern for allowing third story <br /> buildings and hotels in commercial areas . He pointed out <br /> that additional nutrients would be introduced into the <br /> watershed of the River. <br /> Mr. Baker suggested the Board, prior to voting in this <br /> matter, take into consideration the Popponesset <br /> Bay/southern bayments report being prepared by the <br /> Massachusetts Estuaries Project, Be asked the Board t <br /> vote with complete knowledge of impacts t the already <br /> impaired southern bayments in Poppone se.t Bay. <br /> (Said report is expected to be available April 19, <br /> o ) . <br /> 1 <br />
