Dennis Bal arinl made a Motion to continue <br /> the Public Hearings in these two matters -to September 19, <br /> 2007, at 7 : 45 p.m. ; which Motion was .duly seconded by Myrna <br /> 1uer and so gated unanimously. <br /> Public Hearing <br /> Cape Southport LL <br /> Southport Development-Between Algonquin, Rte. 151, and <br /> Old Barnstable Road - Approval of Southport Street Names <br /> The appointed hour having arrived the Chairman road <br /> the Public Hearing notice into the record and called the <br /> Public- Hearing to order. <br /> References were made to a revised street name list <br /> prepared by Margaret Maillh , representing Applicant. <br /> The Chairman determined that there are no street name <br /> duplications. <br /> There was some discussion regarding the street name <br /> "Dogleg Drip " being one or two words. The Town Planner <br /> noted that the approved plans indicate the street name as <br /> one-word, as well as the deeds and assessor's' records . <br /> The -Chairman reed a letter into the record received <br /> from Al Engel, 35 Leisure Green- Drive North - "I Irish to <br /> shed some light on `Dog Lech' vs . 'Dogleg' . 1 have clone a <br /> literature search to support my contention that the <br /> intended name for this street is Dogleg Drive. Dogleg ,is a <br /> golfing term and has the most logical name for the street <br /> since almost all streets in Phase I and Phase II in the <br /> Southport development have been given golfing terms for <br /> street names . That is Leisure Green Drive North, Rolling <br /> Green Drive, Chippers Lane, Pebble Beach Avenue,, Driver <br /> Lane, Masters Court, PGA Lane, and Par Three Court, etc. <br /> Dogleg. r-ive is also the spelling. listed in the official <br /> Southport Telephone Directory. " <br /> The Board and Applicant agreed that Dog-leg Drive <br /> should be one-ward, Windward Drive should be Windward <br /> Street, Iron Path Lame should be Ironwood Path, and Putting <br /> Green Point should be Putting Green Path. <br /> There being no further Board or Public comment the <br /> Chairman entertained a motion to close the Public Hearing. <br /> 6 <br />
