Public Hearing <br /> SM Realty Trust <br /> Corner of Main Street and Center Street <br /> Modification of Special Permit for <br /> Main Street Village Shopping Center <br /> The Chairman read the Public Nearing notice into the <br /> record and called this matter to order. The Chairman then <br /> designated Associate Board member, Hawley Cohen, to sit and <br /> vote in this matter. <br /> The Chairman recognized Attorney Kevin Kirrane, <br /> representing the Applicant, who reminded the Board that <br /> they had approved a Special Permit in of May 2'005 for the <br /> construction of two 2 commercial buildings on site at the <br /> Route 10 location. At that time there had been a variety <br /> of uses listed in the application . one of the buildings <br /> has been constructed. There is interest in the leasing of <br /> the building for use as a Dance Studio, which is not one of <br /> the originally requested uses . However, this use is <br /> permitted within the zoning district and Applicant is <br /> requesting approval to add this particular -use to the <br /> Special, Permit. <br /> Attorney Kirrane informed the Board that Mr. and Mrs. <br /> . <br /> Lovely were present at the meeting and available to <br /> provided information and answer any questions the Board <br /> might have in this regard. <br /> The Chairman asked what the dance studio would consist <br /> o-f and what type of activity would take place. <br /> Amanda Lovely explained .the Studio would be availabie <br /> to teach tap, jazz, ballet, modern, and lyrical dance to <br /> children and adults. <br /> The Chairman asled if dance recitals would be <br /> conducted in this space. <br /> . Lovely responded, "'No, no recitals at the site, " <br /> "We would have to go to a High School . " <br /> The Chairman determined that only teaching would be <br /> conducted at the site. <br /> The Town Planner provided a small plan showing the <br /> interior of the space located within the approved building. <br /> . <br /> 2 <br />
