Stormwater Management System Description
The components of the Stormwater Management System include deep sump catch basins.
conveyance piping, biofiltration swales. and stormwater infiltration basins.
The deep sump catch basins collect the stormwater runoff. The basin outlet pipes are fitted with
an elbow that extends below the static water level of the basin. This elbow will provide a gas
and oil trap in the event of a spill and will also help prevent oil collected in the basin over time
from entering the stormwater system. The deep sump catch basin will also provide a degree of
removal of total suspended solids from the stormwater. Each catch basin will be provided with an
Oilup Sorbent@ oil absorption pillow (Lab Safety Supply # 7A-4004).
Stormwater exiting the collection system is routed to a biofiltration Swale for treatmenprior to
to groundwater. The swales have been desigt ned to treat the 1", 24 hour storm event.
recharge
The stormwater recharge system consists of high-density polyethylene chambers in a field
configuration with stone placed around and under the rows of chambers.
