This change was in response to a ' <br /> request by a resident of the Ockway Bay Estates subdivision. ' <br /> .i <br /> The legal names of Tracy and Gia Lane are still B Street and C Street, respectively. These •� <br /> letter names date back to Land Court plans from the 1960's; apparentlythere was (and still is ?''`l;n <br /> some confusion regarding whether the changes made in the 1970's, renaming the streets with lit <br /> women names, was legal or not. i{ <br /> In December, the Board decided to hold another <br /> hearing, regarding a change of the other two <br /> names to "Tracy Lane" and "Gia Lane," which seems to be the simplest way of resolving the <br /> p Y g �r. <br /> legal issue. This second public hearing has been continued several times, most recently to March rt <br /> 45 1998. <br /> 1 Lf <br /> Because there have been no neighborhood residents present at these meetings, the Planning <br /> Board has decided to go beyond the required public legal notification procedures and send each <br /> resident a letter informing him or her about the hearing process. Although this process does not <br /> change mailing addresses or any other current usage, the Board felt that they could not vote on ;, r <br /> this matter without some input from the residents. <br /> The next scheduled continuation of the hearing is for Wednesday, April 1, at 6:45 p.m. at the <br /> Mashpee Town Hall. If you are not able to attend, and wish to provide our opinion regarding <br /> �' p Y p <br /> your street name, please feel free to call the Planning Department at 539--1425 or write to the <br /> Planning Board c/o Town Hall, 16 Great Neck Road North, Mashpee, MA 02649.
