Tom responded that this issue (Sullivan re-zoning) was submitted as a last minute petition article, a straight re-zoning. As a result of Planning Board hearings, it was decided we would work on a new kind of zoning. He stated his job description is to recommend zoning changes to the town. It has been his job for 9 years to respond the public, to the people that come into this office. Tony stated the Board is elected Board of 5 individuals, not 1 . This will give Tom time to do his job. The building inspector is supposed to 1E interpret zoning bylaws. It might avoid future conflicts . Pat said it might not get the job done in the meantime. He is not sure that it will happen - zoning interpretation. Tom likes doing it and does " it well . Tom's time is too valuable for anyone who walks through the door 01 and demands it. Tom said he does not do a lot of zoning interpretation. People do come in to ask him what they can do with a piece of property they own. Richard stated he does not think it is right that Tom spends so much time with them. i) Tom said he does not think it makes sense and is not a rational way to deal with the public by making them speak to the Planning Board first.
