Eric pointed out there are some useE <br /> in this area that may not be appropriate in maintaining a <br /> traditional village character (drive-thru restaurants, gas <br /> stations, auto-related businesses) , <br /> 114�f1 , <br /> V <br /> r I t Areas identified as scenic resources: Pickerel cove, <br /> Meetinghouse Road corridor, Santuit River Corridor (archeological <br /> resource area) , Historic District for Mashpee Village Center, <br /> Mashpee River Corridor (scenic resource/historic district) . Eric <br /> recommended a site-plan review committee for each element which <br /> would include a member of the Historical Commission and Tribal <br /> Council. There is currently a State Income Tax credit before the <br /> Senate allowing a write-off for registered historicproperty. <br /> a,.. �` g <br /> There is also a development of a local property tax abatement, <br /> Historic Massachusetts Act allowing a five year delay for <br /> r.' renovations. Areas such as Main Street, Route 130, Meetinghouse <br /> } r1` Road and. Pimlico Pond Road could be adopted to fall under the <br /> r Il,;fw <br /> protection of the Scenic Road Bylaw Ch. 40 S. 15C. This suggestion was very well taken, <br /> r Eric informed the Board that a similar suggestion had been made <br /> for identification of wampanoag Resources. <br /> i <br /> The vice Chairman then recognized Stuart Bornstein, who <br /> ` ,;• s suggested implementation of official Town-maps/Pamphlets <br /> r indicating points of interest for residents and visitors alike. <br /> jell:r' The vice Chairman recognized a member of the Public who <br /> identified herself as Mary Lopes, Meetinghouse Road, who pointed <br /> out inconsistencies in some of the areas identified within the <br /> Plan.
