f" <br /> Eric Smith concluded his presentation .at this point and <br /> welcomed questions/comments.- <br /> Mr. Fudala suggested he submit a letter to Cape Cod <br /> Commission with reference to the base master plan suggesting <br /> wind power use, in the event they haven' t already thought of it. <br /> Dennis Balzarini asked whether consumers are going to be <br /> notified of Deregulation, and whether or riot options are going to <br /> be provided. (There was brief discussion regarding notification <br /> procedures. ) <br /> John Kuchinski inquired as to Goal #1, and asked the meaning <br /> of "cost effective energy efficiency programs" . Eric Smith <br /> answered, a balance of cost/benefit. <br /> Mr. Fudala suggested the Goals and Strategies be worked <br /> through in order to make them more consistent with the rest of <br /> the Plan. <br /> The Chairman made reference to 1-3 Energy Conservation. <br /> Standards, and questioned the use of the word "enforced. " The <br /> Building Department enforces the State Energy Code. Mr. Fudala <br /> suggested substituting the word "adopted" for "enforced. " <br /> Chance Reichel suggested the words "ran dry" as it refers to <br /> funding mentioned in the Executive Summary, be substituted with <br /> the word "exhausted. " <br /> There being no further Board comments, the Chairman <br /> recognized Mr. James Chisholm, 174-22 Lowell Road, Trustee. Mr. <br /> Chisholm informed the Board of his background as a Public , <br /> Relations and Marketing Consultant. He expressed concern <br /> regarding what he described as a "bombardment" of telephone calls <br /> from various companies in connection with deregulation. He <br /> suggested an investigation into those companies, for fear they <br /> cannot provide the generation required during the winter months, f " <br /> wherebythe residents of Mash pee would then turn to the Town for <br /> p ., <br /> assistance. He feels strongly this should be addressed within <br /> the framework of the Plan. He stated costs will be broken <br /> down as follows; Fuel, Generation, Distribution and Service. He <br /> suggested Mashpee set some restrictions in place. He also <br /> commented, with reference to the Energy Plan, that CNG is t± <br /> something to be pursued as it would be very effective. He also <br /> suggested an educational process be devised, as well as <br /> contacting CNG Companies located in the Boston area to request a ;E :: <br /> presentation. <br /> further in ut the Board engaged <br /> There being nop in brief <br /> discussion regarding the remaining Elements of the Comprehensive <br /> Plan/procedure. <br /> Mr. Fudala suggested all drafts be amended to incorporate <br /> -11- <br /> i•L <br />
