Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise,
a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee on April 24, 2009 and May 1,
2009, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on
Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at which time the following members of the Zoning Board
of Appeals were present and acting throughout: Robert Nelson, Jonathan Furbush, James
Reiffarth, William Blaisell and John Dorsey.
The Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals issues this Decision pursuant to the
provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40A Section 10 and the Town of
Mashpee Zoning By-laws.
Peter Aledda represents himself at this hearing. He is seeking variance relief in
order to expand some existing living space in the front of the house. The existing corner
sits at 7 feet off the lot line and the new addition will only add another foot. The new
structure will be 6.1 feet off the lot line. The Board reviews the plans and mention he has
plenty of room to the street side and the lot is very small. The proposed lot coverage
would be 14.1%. The Board finds this to be reasonable and James Reiffarth makes a
motion to grant an 8.9 foot variance on the southerly side. Jonathan Furbush seconds the
motion. All agree. So moved.
