Douglas Bridge 36 Forest Drive
Map 29 Parcel 74
SP-05-124
A Petition was filed on October 18, 2005 for a Special Permit under Section 174-
45.4 of the Zoning By-laws to build an accessory apartment on property located in an R-5
zoning district at 36 Forest Drive (Map 29 Parcel 74) Mashpee, MA.
Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General
Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a
newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, October 21, 2005, and October
28, 2005, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on
Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at which time the following members of the Zoning
Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout: Robert Nelson, Zella Elizenberry,
Frederick Borgeson, Jonathan Furbush and Evano Cunha.
The Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals issues this Decisio❑ pursuant to the
provisions of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 40A, Section 9 and the Town of
Mashpee Zoning By-laws.
Douglas Bridge represents himself for the special permit and variance application.
Originally, the special permit application was ready for hearing on November 9t" but they
realized a variance would also be needed. Mr. Bridge informs the Board that their
basement is finished and the Building Department felt that they could add that square
footage into the total. The Board of Health has also said they cannot add any more
bedrooms. Mr. Bridge is aware of this and their plan is to combine two of the bedrooms
into one large master, so that the total number of bedrooms will remain the same. The
parking is shown on the plan for 4 cars. The lot coverage will be 19.5% however they
