Douglas Bridge 36 Forest Drive <br /> Map 29 Parcel 74 <br /> V-05-133 <br /> A Petition was filed on November 8, 2005. for a Variance from Section 174-3)1 <br /> of the Zoning By-laws to vary the setback requirements in order to build an accessory <br /> apartment on property located in an R-5 zoning district at 36 Forest Drive (Map 29 <br /> Parcel 74) Mashpee, MA. <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General <br /> Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a <br /> newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on November 25, 2005 and <br /> December 2, 2005 a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> A Public Hearing was held ou the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on <br /> Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at which time the following members of the Zoning <br /> Board of Appeals were present and acting throughout: Robert Nelson, Zella Elizenberry, <br /> Frederick Borgeson, Jonathan Furbush and Evano Cunha. <br /> The Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals issues this Decision pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 40A, Section 10 and the Town of <br /> Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> Douglas Bridge represents himself for the special permit and variance application. <br /> Originally, the special permit application was ready for hearing on November 9"' but they <br /> realized a variance would also be needed. They are requesting a special permit for an <br /> accessory apartment for his parents and need a setback variance to build the proposed <br /> addition. The Board reviews the plans and seems to think this is larger than 40% of the <br /> gross square footage of the main dwelling. Mr. Bridge informs the Board that their <br /> basement is finished and the Building Department felt that they could add that square <br /> footage into the total, The Board of Health has also said they cannot add any more <br /> bedrooms. Mr. Bridge is aware of this and their plan is to combine two of the bedroon-is <br /> into one large master, so that the total number of bedrooms will remain the same. The <br />
