Nelson
Zoning Board of Appeals
Mashpee Town Hall
Great Neck Road North
Mashpee, MA. 02649
RE: Project on Wag's Road
Dear Chairman Nelson:
The Mashpee Police Department has had an opportunity to review the proposed plan for
construction of a boat maintenance facility of approximately 6,048 square feet on Wag's
Road, off from Route 28. This project is proposed by Dry Harbor Enterprises and is
located on designated Lot 1-A behind Johnny's Tune & Lube.
It is the position of this department that traffic should be controlled in terms of entrance
and egress relative to Wag's Road as a result of the construction of this facility. It is
recommended that this be accomplished by a "right-turn only" traffic control. Therefore,
it is recommended that an appropriate Town By-Law be adopted and proper signage be
erected in order to control said traffic.
The reasons for this recommendation are as follows:
• Volume of traffic on Route 28 at the intersection of Wag's Road
• Speed of traffic in the vicinity at the intersection of Route 28 and Wag's Road
• The likelihood of tractors and/or trucks entering and exiting with trailers and
extended loads
• The likelihood of tractors and/or trucks entering and exiting with trailers and
extended loads having the inability for rapid acceleration to maneuver within the
said intersection
1 :e k1d 61 OAV SO
VRt gf
