Mashpee Zoning Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Homes 3 <br /> Board of Appeals SP-02-52 <br /> GENERAL FINDINGS <br /> L that the subject property is located at 68 and 74 Algonquin Avenue and <br /> consists of 2.05 acres of land. <br /> is <br /> SPECIFIC FINDINGS I! I <br /> The Board determined that: <br /> 1. it is a common practice for a mortuary, undertaking or funeral establishment <br /> to provide an apartment/accommodations within the establishment for an <br /> employee, such as a mortician/undertaker. <br /> 2. the proposed addition of an employee apartment to the structure is typical of <br /> i I ;Ii 'II <br /> the funeral homes owned by the Petitioner. <br /> i <br /> 3. the proposal is an integral part of the primary use allowed by plan review or j <br /> special permit. <br /> 4. a critical aspect of the business would include having staff on premises day <br /> and night. <br /> 5. the proposal would not create a more detrimental impact on the Groundwater <br /> Protection District than the existing structure. <br /> 6. the existing septic system would allow for installation of a one-bedroom <br /> apartment to the structure. <br /> In view of the foregoing, the Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals found that the <br /> Petitioner met the criteria necessary for grant of a Modification to a Special Permit. <br /> Upon motion duly made and seconded, the Zoning Board of Appeals voted unanimously j <br /> on May 22, 2002 to grant the Modification to the Special Permit, SP-01-29, under <br /> Section 174-25.H.6 of the Zoning By-laws. The Modification to Special Permit, �i I <br /> SP-02-29 is conditioned upon compliance with the following: <br /> 1. the addition of an apartment to the structure located at 68 and 74 Algonquin <br /> 'I <br /> I , <br /> Avenue shall be specifically for use by an employee in connection with the <br /> operation of a mortuary, undertaking or funeral establishment. <br /> 2. in clarification of the above-mentioned use, the apartment shall not be I� <br /> described as "caretaker's quarters". <br /> 3. plan of L.F.
