Mashpee, Massachusetts 02649 <br /> Decision for a Special Permit <br /> RE: David Cohen SP-00-156 Map 120 Block 158 <br /> 18 Wheelhouse Lane <br /> A Petition was filed on July 26, 2000 by David Cohen of Mashpee, Massachusetts llj 'ii <br /> i II: <br /> for a Special Permit under Section 174-25.I.9 of the Zoning By-laws to allow for <br /> construction of a pier, ramp and float on Great River on property located in an R-3 <br /> zoning district at 18 Wheelhouse Lane (Map 120 Block 158)Mashpee, MA. <br /> Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts General <br /> Laws Chapter 40A. Notice was given by publication in The Mashpee Enterprise, a <br /> I�II�r I <br /> newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee, on August 4 and August 11, I' <br /> 2000, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. <br /> A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town Hall on ' I <br /> Wednesday, August 23, 2000, at which time the following members of the Zoning Board j <br /> of Appeals were present and acting throughout: Edward M. Govoni, James E. Regan III <br /> and Robert G.Nelson. <br /> The Mashpee Zoning Board of Appeals issues this Decision pursuant to the <br /> provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 40A, Section 9 and the Town of <br /> Mashpee Zoning By-laws. <br /> Mr. Michael Grotzke of the Phoenix Group represented the Petition and stated <br /> that the proposal calls for a permanent walkway constructed of fiberglass grate material <br /> placed at a low height to allow light and air to reach the ground. The walkway would be <br /> connected to a Section I OA float with a total length of 315 feet. <br /> Mr. Grotzke stated that the Conservation Commission and Harbormaster Perry <br /> I j <br /> Ellis have approved the plan. The Conservation Commission informed the Board that the <br /> Commission has continued its hearing of the Petition until September 21, 2000. <br /> i <br /> No comments were received from abutters. j <br /> GENERAL FINDINGS <br /> 1. that the subject property is located at 18 Wheelhouse Lane and consists of <br /> 17,149 square feet fronting on Great River. !
