Mandalos for a Special Permit SP-92-86
A Petition was filed by George E. Mandalos of Manchester,
Connecticut, for a Special Permit under Section 174-25.I.9 of the
Zoning By-laws for permission to extend an existing pier and add
another float in an R-3 zoning district on property located at
22 Cross Tree Way (Map 112, Block 23) Mashpee, Massachusetts.
Notice was duly given to abutters in accordance with Massachusetts
General Laws Chapter 40A• Notice was given by publication in The
Enterprise, a newspaper of general circulation in the Town of Mashpee,
on November 20 and November 27, 1992, a copy of which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof.
A Public Hearing was held on the Petition at the Mashpee Town
Hall on Wednesday, December 9, 1992 at 7:30 P.M. at which time the
following members of the Board of Appeals were present and acting
throughout: John J. Friel, Michael A. Makunas and Cheryl A. Hawver.
Mr. Mandalos informed:.the:Board :that he proposed to add 10'
to the existing pier and two timber floats. The Conservation
Commission had recommended a reduction in the size of the floats
to 210 square feet. No objections were received from abutters.
The Board determined that the structure would not unduly
interfere with the passage of travel by water or land or cause
disruption to the marine or coastal environment.
Upon motion duly made and seconded the Board of Appeals voted
unanimously on December 9, 1992 to grant the Special Permit pending
the receipt of revised plans signed by the engineer. The Permit
is referenced by plans of Doyle Engineering revised January 28, 1993.
