Minutes of Meeting of
Design Review Committee
Tuesday, May 3, 2022
Mashpee Town Hall Waquoit Meeting Room
The Committee liked the design of the building. The only issue is the internal
lighting of the sign on the building.
Tyler had questions regarding the existing landscape island. Mr. Garrett
said that he is working with Conservation to clean up the area to.the left of
the property that abuts the asphalt area. Tyler recommended that lower
plantings are best for safety reasons.
Joe suggested that they keep the island free of advertising signs.
There was no more discussion.
Mr. Furbush made a motion is accept the proposal as submitted pending a
request for an internally lit sign to be reviewed with the Building Department.
Joe seconded. All were in favor.
8:45 am Business name: Big Guy Landscape, LLC
Pr ject Address: 18 Mercantile Way
Owner/Agent: Capewide Construction, Inc.
Re resentative: Attorney, Christopher Kirrane
Architect/En ineer: Down Cape Engineering
Re uest: Landscape Company Office and Shop, 5,520 sq. ft.
Signage-location only at this time.
Attorney, Chris Kirrane represented the applicant, Big Guy Landscape. Also
present was Dan O'jala with Down Cape Engineering, Joao Junqueira, and
Roger Brooks with Cape Wide Construction. The site plan shows that there
is two entrances; on Mercantile and Commercial streets. This building is
located in the Industrial District and Light Overlay District. The parking will
have 16 spaces and one handicapped space. The building is similar to most
of the buildings in the area. There is no proposal yet for the signage.
The gravel parking area will be used for the landscape material, and
machinery equipment.
Mr. Furbush asked if there will be fencing around the property. Dan said
that the only fencing will be around the dumpster. The natural buffer will
remain on the front and side yards, but no additional fencing at this time.
Dan said that the lot on either side are vacant at this time. There will be
building mounted lights that will cast out. The two entrances are convenient
for the fire trucks.
2
