Report of the <br />Cape Cod Regional Transit <br />Authority <br />To the Honorable Board of Selectmen and the <br />Citizens of the Town of Mashpee: <br />Mashpee Representative — John Cahalane <br />The Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority <br />(CCRTA) has provided in Mashpee 44,552 one-way <br />passenger trips from July 2015 through June 2016 <br />(FY16). <br />CCRTA provided 311 ADA and general public <br />clients in Mashpee with DART (Dial -a -Ride <br />Transportation) service during FY16. These clients <br />took a total of 15,274 one-way passenger trips during <br />this time period. Total DART passenger trips in the <br />fifteen towns of Cape Cod were 232,437 in FY15 <br />compared to 232,079 in FY16. <br />CCRTA FY16 records for the Boston Hospital <br />Transportation service indicates 31 Mashpee residents <br />took 113 one-way trips on this service. <br />The fixed route Sealine serves the towns of <br />Barnstable, Mashpee and Falmouth along Route 28. A <br />total of 24,262 one-way trips originated in Mashpee for <br />the Sealine for the period July 2015 through June 2016; <br />total ridership for the Sealine for this period was <br />159,910. <br />The fixed route Bourne Route serves the towns <br />of Bourne, Falmouth and Mashpee. A total of 4,903 <br />one-way trips originated in Mashpee for the Bourne <br />Route for the period July 2015 through June 2016; total <br />ridership for the Bourne Route for this period was <br />13,785. <br />CCRTA supplied the Mashpee Council on Aging <br />with one Mobility Assistance Program (MAP) vehicle <br />that provided 2,731 rides from July 2015 to June 2016. <br />Route maps, schedules, fares, Google Transit Trip <br />Planner and the latest news about Cape Cod public <br />transportation services are provided at <br />www.capecodrta.org, as well as links to many other <br />transportation resources. <br />Report of the <br />Community Preservation <br />Committee <br />To the Honorable Board of Selectmen and the <br />Citizens of the Town of Mashpee: <br />At the May 2005 Annual Town Meeting, the <br />Town of Mashpee adopted the provisions of the <br />Community Preservation Act (CPA) to replace the <br />Cape Cod Open Space Land Acquisition Program <br />(Land Bank) and dedicate a 3% property tax surcharge, <br />along with state contributions that are made available to <br />the Town of Mashpee under the Community <br />Preservation Act, to the Community Preservation Fund <br />that may be appropriated and spent for certain Open <br />Space purposes, Recreation purposes, Historic <br />Resource purposes, and Community Housing purposes. <br />The Community Preservation Committee is a <br />nine -member committee charged with reviewing the <br />needs, possibilities and resources of the Town of <br />Mashpee with regard to community preservation. The <br />Community Preservation Committee is responsible for <br />Community Preservation Fund appropriations and <br />borrowings and makes recommendations to Town <br />Meeting, the legislative body for the appropriation of <br />all CPA funds. <br />Since its inception, Community Preservation <br />funds have supported a multi -year program to expand <br />the Heritage Park Recreational facility. This includes <br />the popular Splash Pad, and the Tiger Long Playground <br />and parking lot lighting. Additional recreational <br />projects supported by the CPA include the Quashnet <br />School Helping Hands Playground, the Kids Klub Pre- <br />school Playground and the K.C. Coombs School <br />Therapeutic Playground. Funding has also allowed for <br />the reconstruction of the tennis courts at the Quashnet <br />School, and track resurfacing at the Mashpee High <br />School. Recreation projects also include the <br />reconstruction of the twenty-year old tennis and <br />basketball courts at the Middle School/High School, <br />and improving playground equipment at both the K.C. <br />Coombs and Quashnet Schools. At the Town beach, <br />the Attaquin Park Playground was rejuvenated to <br />improve the recreational facilities for Mashpee and its <br />visitors. <br />
