Report of the <br />Historic District Commission <br />To the Honorable Board of Selectmen and the <br />Citizens of the Town of Mashpee: <br />During 2016, the Commission held two public <br />meetings. On May 26, the Commission held a public <br />hearing regarding proposed remodeling of the former <br />Flume Restaurant to become the Naukabout Beer <br />Company microbrewery/brew pub. The project was <br />approved and a Certificate of Appropriateness was <br />issued. On December 21, Naukabout Beer returned to <br />the Commission to request further modifications to their <br />original plans. After some modifications requested by <br />the Commission, a new Certificate of Appropriateness <br />was issued approving the changes. The work is <br />scheduled to begin in the Spring of 2017. <br />Members of the Commission also continued to <br />meet as part of a working group which preparing a <br />proposal to install entrance signs to the District on Main <br />Street and Great Neck Road North and a series of <br />historical signs and markers at various historic buildings <br />and sites in the District and other parts of Mashpee. The <br />Historical Commission's request for Community <br />Preservation Act funding was approved by the <br />Community Preservation Committee and funded by <br />October Town Meeting, with strong support from the <br />Town Manager. <br />The Commission welcomed new member <br />Bradford Pittsley in 2016, but is still in need of one <br />additional member, preferably an architect or similar <br />design professional. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Earl Mills. Balzarini, Planning Board Rep, Clerk <br />Jessie Baird, Tribal Council Rep <br />Michael Robbins <br />Bradford Pittsley <br />Report of the <br />Mashpee Housing <br />Authority <br />To the Honorable Board of Selectmen and the <br />Citizens of the Town of Mashpee: <br />Mission Statement <br />It is the mission of the Mashpee Housing <br />Authority to remain committed to working <br />cooperatively with community, state, federal, and local <br />officials to provide decent, safe, and affordable housing <br />to the citizens of Mashpee in an atmosphere of dignity <br />and respect. <br />Purpose <br />The Mashpee Housing Authority is a duly <br />organized public housing authority, created under MGL <br />Chapter 121B. The Authority provides income -based <br />rental units to the elderly, disabled, and families. The <br />Authority administers Federal and State housing <br />programs under the direction of the authority's <br />Executive Director, with the oversight of a five - <br />member Board of Commissioners all of whom are <br />residents of Mashpee. <br />General Information <br />The Mashpee Housing Authority's main office is <br />located in the Community Building of the Frank J. <br />Homeyer Village, 7 Job's Fishing Road, Mashpee, MA <br />02649. This main office is open part-time, Monday — <br />Thursday, 9:00 AM —2:30 PM. We are closed for <br />administrative work on Fridays, but are available by <br />appointment. Hours can vary without notice depending <br />on staff vacations, trainings, meetings and other <br />appointments outside of the office. The Asher's Path <br />Apartments site office is open Monday, Wednesday, <br />and Thursday, 8AM —1:00 PM. Applicants and clients <br />are encouraged to call for an appointment if they need <br />to see someone. Special appointment times can be <br />arranged, including evening and weekends. A 24-hour <br />drop box has been installed in the in both office <br />entranceways to allow people to drop off paperwork at <br />any time. Applications for housing are also available <br />in the entranceways 24 hours a day, seven days a week. <br />Board meetings are held monthly, usually on the <br />second Thursday of every month unless otherwise <br />posted at the Town Hall. The location of the meetings <br />is usually at the main office at 7 Job's Fishing Road. <br />Meetings are always posted with the Town Clerk at the <br />ill <br />
