10 Mashpee Select Board Minutes August 8, 2022 TOWN MANAGER UPDATES Town Manager Rodney C. Collins requested the Select Board fill the following priority Liaison Assignments held by the previous Select Board Chair, Andrew R. Gottlieb. This includes the Community Preservation Committee and Capital Improvement Program Committee. A brief discussion followed. It was agreed the remaining Liaison Assignments held by Andrew R. Gottlieb would be placed on hold. If required, Selectman David W. Weeden now Chairman of the respective Mashpee Select Board would assume this responsibility until the vacancy has been fulfilled. Motion made by Selectman Cotton to appoint Selectman David W. Weeden as the Select Board (Parks & Recreation) representative to the Community Preservation Committee. Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. Roll Call Vote: Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman, yes Opposed, none Motion made by Selectman Sherman to appoint Selectman John J. Cotton as the Select Board representative to the Capital Improvement Program Committee. Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. Roll Call Vote: Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman, yes Opposed, none Public Comment: In closing Selectman John J. Cotton, Nobska Road spoke to the Select Board and to the public regarding the recent resignation of Andrew R. Gottlieb from the Select Board. Mr. Cotton commented on the knowledge and experience bestowed by Mr. Gottlieb during his tenure which has laid the ground work to make Mashpee as it is today, a better place to live. Mr. Cotton stated there is a lot of work that needs to be done as the Town moves into the next chapter. On the matter of reorganization on July 25, 2022, Mr. Cotton in moving forward, gave sincere appreciation with respectful apologies to Selectman David W. Weeden.
