13 <br />Mashpee Select Board <br />Minutes <br />May 15, 2023 <br />Discussion and Possible AU:alof Purchasing Electronic Voting Systems for Tow111n Meetings <br />Town Mana per Town Moderator, Town Clerk: (continued) <br />As the Select Board considered this option it was recommended that information from the manufacturer be <br />obtained regarding the batteries to be used for operation and the disposal thereof. It was suggested that <br />rechargeable batteries be considered with a docking station. <br />Motion made by Selectman Cotton to authorize the Town Manager to take necessary actions to <br />purchase the Electronic Voting System; 800 clicker system for the Town of Mashpee for a sum not to <br />exceed $25,000. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes <br />Selectman Sherman, yes Selectman Wyman -Colombo, yes Opposed, none <br />Discussionµ and A) royal .of July; through December, 2023W Select Board Meeting WSchedule: <br />The Select Board reviewed the meeting schedule, proposed dates for upcoming Select Board meetings. <br />Motion made by Selectman Cotton to approve the 2023 Select Board Meeting Schedule from July <br />through December as presented. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman Wyman -Colombo. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes <br />Selectman Sherman, yes Selectman Wyman -Colombo, yes Opposed, none <br />LIAISON REPORTS <br />FDIC: The economy in Mashpee is growing as several businesses are moving into larger spaces and new <br />businesses are seeking to startup in Mashpee Commons. This includes a new seafood restaurant, a spa and <br />several upscale clothing stores. Sarah Chase recently gave an update to the EDIC on business sector trends. <br />Mashpee Commons is working diligently on the housing crisis. Several concepts are being considered for <br />the workforce and for affordable housing. This includes re -purposing available space for work/study <br />groups and shared living opportunities. Smaller sized single-family homes on smaller lots are in the stages <br />of development. <br />
