5 <br />Mashlace; Select Board -Affordable Housing Trust <br />Minutes <br />June 26, 2023 <br />At the May 2023 Town Meeting, the Affordable Housing Trust (AHT) was awarded $550,000 in CPA <br />monies to allow for a more efficient procedure to enable the acquisition of land and subsequent <br />development of affordable housing projects. Adequate funding would enable the AHT to move <br />6orward effectively and efficiently, and to take action on affordable projects as they arise. <br />3%TWTNMF1_f I lee T a <br />Committee for $500,000 in CPA funding at the October 2023 Town Meeting. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. 7-0. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman, yes <br />Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Wyman -Colombo, yes <br />Mr. hibitz, yes Mr. McKelvey, yes Opposed, none <br />Evan Lehrer, Town Planner met with members of the Affordable Housing Trust to review the update of <br />the Housing Production Plan, a CPA funded project at the May 2022 Town. Meeting. The project also <br />received funds from the Cape Cod Commission via District Local Technical Assistance. Mr. Lehrer <br />indicated that actions to be defined in the Plan would consider projects recommended to move forward, <br />evaluate the housing policy, and provide specific actions to be taken in consideration to the <br />demographic changes over the past 10 years. <br />The Housing Production Plan (HPP) will provide the framework which the Town should rely on to <br />meet its 10% mandate of housing units eligible for inclusion on the States Subsidized Housing <br />inventory. The document is intended tosupport "the creation, preservation, and support of community <br />liousing." <br />It was noted the Town of Mashpee adopted its first Housing Production Plan in 2015. To meet the 10% <br />mandate, a minimum of 32 units annually was recommended in this report. This goal was not <br />achieved. <br />On July 11, 2023 MT. Lehrer is scheduled to meet with the Affordable Housing Committee and <br />consultants to outline an engagement strategy focusing on necessary steps to achieve the 10% mandate <br />of eligible affordable housing units. It is anticipated the Affordable Housing Trust would be involved <br />in this process as a decision -making board in similar capacity with the Affordable Housing Committee, <br />
