Coombs Parent-Teacher Organization the importance and joy of reading.Bryson and Okemos' <br /> Rachel Coscia,President families attended this event and placed the plaques on <br /> Carrie Vidal,Vice President the boxes. To continue the celebration,KCC welcomed <br /> Robert Blackburn,Treasure Cameron Greendeer and Darius Coombs along with <br /> Heather Murray,Corresponding Secretary Wampanoag dancers and drummers to celebrate Native <br /> Open Position,Recording Secretary American Heritage Month. <br /> 2021-2022 Enrollment(June 2022) Later in the spring, KCC welcomed back our <br /> Grade Enrollment Read to Me Program for the loth year, through our <br /> Preschool 22 partnership with Southport. This group of retired <br /> Pre-K 62 community members set up a story-walk for our PreK <br /> Kindergarten 93 students and gifted each PK student a book. <br /> Grade 1 103 KCC PTO continued to support the Coombs <br /> Grade 2 94 School and its mission "to provide a strong learning <br /> Total 374 environment and a supportive community" helping <br /> The Kenneth C. Coombs School launched with many events,fundraisers and activities throughout <br /> the 2021-2022 school year with an enrollment of the school year and provided materials and resources <br /> approximately 374 students from Preschool through such as books, weekly periodicals for all grade levels <br /> Grade 2. KCC housed one Preschool classroom with such as Scholastic Reading and National Geographic, <br /> 2, 3 and 4 half day sessions, four Pre-K classrooms, all which supported the academic objectives of our <br /> five Kindergarten, six Grade One, and five Grade curriculum.Highlights from the 2021-2022 school year <br /> Two classrooms with 15 paraprofessionals supporting include the PTO sponsored gingerbread kits for each <br /> teachers and students. KCC also has 12 individuals classroom.The kits were ordered from The Chocolate <br /> providing Student Support Services, including OT/ Rose in Mashpee.They provided candies,cereals, and <br /> PT, speech therapy, special education, ELL, Title I pretzels to decorate. The gingerbread houses were <br /> services,Indian Education Tutor,and our comfort dog displayed in our front lobby for all to enjoy. Another <br /> Cassie.To support the social and emotional well being exciting opportunity for our students was the PTO <br /> of our students we have two adjustment counselors, funded Jack Hartmann virtual concert.Jack's songs are <br /> a school psychologist and a behavior specialist. Dr. a favorite for both students and teachers.He performed <br /> Goulart began her second year as building Principal a live concert just for our students from Florida.In the <br /> and Mr.Prehna completed his second year fulfilling the spring of 2022, the KCC PTO kicked off their biggest <br /> duties of the Assistant Principal. fundraiser of the year, the KCC Falcons Dance Off. <br /> In efforts to raise funds, students asked their friends <br /> The Kenneth C. Coombs School fosters our and family to pledge donations in their name. Local <br /> connected community through volunteers and welcoming businesses supported the event by sponsoring KCC <br /> presenters for educational assemblies.We kicked off the t-shirts that were distributed to every student and <br /> year with October's Fire Prevention Month. Lieutenant staff member. To support the Dance Off's fitness <br /> Leonard Goldman from the Mashpee Fire Department theme, students watched a daily video from student <br /> visited all of our classrooms to educate students on fire athletes encouraging curiosity, practice, confidence, <br /> prevention.Firefighter Lenny ended the program with a humility, and endurance. The Falcon Dance Off was <br /> fire truck visit to the Coombs School.On November 15th held on May 13, 2022 and was a huge success raising <br /> for the first time ever, the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribal $20,355. A portion of the funds raised from the event <br /> flag was raised alongside the American flag and the State went towards four new picnic tables for our students to <br /> flag.It was an amazing opportunity for us to acknowledge enjoy lunch or other activities outside in the courtyard. <br /> and celebrate the Mashpee Wampanoag people who On June loth,the PTO hosted our first annual KCC vs. <br /> have lived on and nurtured this land for thousands of Quashnet Falcon Kicker's Cup.The kickball game was <br /> years.
