He is also working on deleting the old' webpage <br /> for the schoolhouse, and then updating the information on the webpagle. <br /> Richard worked with Naiorni Lopez Walker who has cleaned all the monuments in the <br /> Lakewood Cemetery, and he is working with Baker Memorial in Falmouth who said they <br /> could properly straighten or resetl the headstones. <br /> Richard has had new signs made up for Schoolhouse tours which Pedro and Richard will <br /> be conducting both on Mondays and Saturdays during July and August from 1 1:00am- <br /> 2:00pm. <br /> Nancy donated a book to our library entitled The Story of the "First Encounter" at Nauset, <br /> which references the Mashpee Wampano,ag tribe. Ava also donated a picture book called <br /> Creating Cape Cod which she received as a thank you gift from Heritage Museums & <br /> Gardens of Sandwich. We had loaned the Museum our picture of the Wigwam motel to <br /> be part of their exhibit on Cape Cod as a vacation destination for the 400 years celebration <br /> in 2020, which all Cape Cod towns had to cancel because of the Pandemic. <br /> We have sent a letter to the Tribe to ask for their comments on the renaming of the <br /> Ancient Burial­Grounds, Richard: has talked to the office of the BOS who may be able to <br /> handle these name changes, or if not possible, this article may have to be put on the <br /> Warrant for the next Town, Meeting, <br /> New Business <br /> Ava asked if we had any nominations for the Preserving Mashpee's History Award for <br /> 2022. We had an interesting discussion about several people who have made <br /> contributions, and Rosemary suggested that we recognize Mark Rosbach, and three <br /> students who rebuilt the woodshed for the Mashpee One-Room Schoolhouse in the <br /> spring of 2023. Motion was made to recognize the Instructor and the three MMHS <br /> students, Brycen Feren, Tevin Mattis, and Andrew Weiner. The motion was seconded, <br /> and unanimously approved. We picked the date of Sunday, August 13th but we could <br /> change it if necessary. <br /> Richard nominated, Brian, Hyde as our Representative to the CPC and the Historic <br /> District, and Rosemary seconded it, and it was voted "unanimously, Brian agreed, to <br /> continue being on those two Commissions as the MHC Representative. <br />
