The deadline for comment is 5:00 p.m. on August 28, <br />2023. <br />Motion made by Selectman Sherman to send a Letter of Support to MassDEP urging the decision move <br />forward based on state law requirements to prevent wastewater from being released into the Cape Cod Bay <br />Ocean Sanctuary. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman Weeden. <br />VOTE: s® 5-0. <br />Roll Call Vote: <br />Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman, yes <br />Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Wyman -Colombo, yes Opposed, none <br />Cal,,)e Cod Water Protection Fund Mana lement Board Request for e Restoration of 25% Sgbsidy: <br />The Select Board agreed to send a letter of support to Governor Healy to sustain the Cape Cod and Islands Water <br />Protection Fund. Additional revenue is necessary to allow the Fund to remain solvent through FY30 to support the <br />continuation of the 25% subsidy through the end of the decade, <br />The Fund has assisted the To of Mashpec and other Cape communities to advance their wastewater planning. <br />As a result of the depth of requests in 2022 and 2023, the Intended Use Plan (IUP) has included over $108 million <br />and $167 million in wastewater projects, the greatest amounts seen from Cape Cod, <br />As a result, the Cape Cod and Islands Water Protection Fund Management Board has voted to reduce the subsidy <br />to 12% from 25% for FY24 IUP projects. Assistance is requested in sustaining the long-term financial viability of <br />this critical source of ftmding relied upon for the clean-up of coastal waterways and embayment's. <br />Motion made by Selectman Sherman to send a Letter of Support to Governor Healy requesting to sustain <br />the continuation of the 25% subsidy through the Cape Cod and Islands Water Protection Fund <br />Management Board. <br />Motion seconded by Selectman O'Hara. <br />VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br />iollCall Vote: <br />Selectman Cotton, yes Selectman O'Hara, yes Selectman Sherman, yes <br />Selectman Weeden, yes Selectman Wyman -Colombo, yes Opposed, none <br />
